Amsterdam
Castell has been part of Amsterdam’s dining scene for years. For its new home in Oud Zuid, the brief was not to reinvent the brand, but to translate its character into a new setting. The familiar warmth and energy remain, shaped into an interior with a quieter, more refined expression that reflects the neighbourhood without losing the soul of Castell. A restrained palette of timber, leather and natural stone forms the foundation of the space. Soft lighting and a sculptural ceiling bring texture and depth, creating an atmosphere that feels warm, balanced and effortless. Every material was chosen to support the experience, allowing the character of the space to be felt through simplicity rather than decoration. Bespoke craftsmanship runs throughout the project. From the bar and seating to the plasterwork, ceiling and terrace, key elements were designed and made specifically for the restaurant. The result is an interior with a strong sense of identity, familiar, welcoming and built around the details that make people want to stay a little longer.
